From the age of 14, Sam has spent an increasing number of hours shooting and editing video. While he has a plentiful portfolio of content made from his home in Sarasota, Florida, the bulk of his work has been made in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he has studied film and television at Regent University for the past 2 years (he is also more proud of his recent work, as improvement comes with experience).
He has experience with various film software and hardware alike, having shot on Sony Fs7 and a7siii cameras, Canon C300s, and Black Magic's Ursa Mini, and has edited using the Adobe suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Lightroom) as well as other DAWs such as ProTools and Cakewalk. He also has an affinity for lighting and has gaffed and gripped many times on short film productions using Aputure and Arri Monolights and LEDs.
Currently, Sam is in pre-production as director for an upcoming short film (more of a passion project), one of several producers on a TV police procedural drama, assistant director for an upcoming short film, producer for a mini documentary, and crew for various other projects. With his time in between, his goals in the next few months are to compose and produce a piece of music, look for freelance work and job openings, and prioritize spending time with God and family.
When he's not in production for a project, Sam enjoys playing piano and guitar, recording music, playing group sports, and being involved in his local church. There, he has served in kids and youth ministries, volunteered with the worship team, and interned as a Youth Pastor's assistant for a summer. He believes that the most fulfilling work is that which communicates the gospel of Jesus Christ and the themes therein, and that the collaborative film process is among the most conducive to living out and sharing the Gospel.
